Welcome to the Torq IdeaScale User Forum

In this community you can submit an idea, vote on existing ideas or add your comments.

The developers of Torq and M-Audio DJ products are always interested in your feedback and ideas. However, this space should not be thought of as a means to communicate directly with the Torq development team. The IdeaScale is for users to discuss possible changes, additions, and new features with other Torq and DJ product users. Users posting to this forum should not expect (or request) a developer reply to any of their posts.

If you would like to submit an idea, please click the new idea button. You will be asked to add a title and choose the category your idea belongs to. You also have the option to add a tag to your idea. Tags are another way to identify your idea using key words you feel describe it best. They can help others find your idea when browsing or searching. Tags are displayed in the left navigation area under What we’re discussing.

If you would like to view ideas sorted by the categories, use the links on the left side of the screen under the heading Categories. To return to this page click the All Ideas link.

Allow rescan of ID3 tags without losing analysis/quickCUEs

At the moment, if I update my music's tags using an external program (such as iTunes or mp3tag), I have to force analyse my music (or else delete TQDs and clear the database), for the updated tags to be shown in Torq. This means I lose all of my quickCUES/anchors/grid alignments and have to start from scratch with each track. I would like another option to be added to the right click context menus called "Rescan tags", ...more »

Colored Waveforms

Simple idea, but HUGE plus in my opinion. I would love to see the waveforms colored based on the song's frequencies. This is the only feature I am jealous of my friends using Serato and (now) Traktor, for. I know it might slow down computer performance some, but maybe allow for it to be turned on/off?

Lock mapping by default, to stop accidental right clicks

Add a lock/unlock button to the controller assignment window, which turns right-click mapping off/on. Default it to locked. Reasoning: It's very easy for both novice and experienced users to accidentally right click controls on-screen (eg when in the dark in a club, using a trackpad where the right mouse button is so easy to knock) without meaning to. This comes up so many times on the forum - where people are saying ...more »

Stand alone GUI Customizer

As above would suggest.

A stand alone GUI Customizer for fully customizing how you use Torq.

Ability to fully customize the GUI in a safe invirontment.

drag and drop things visually, make things be able to fit in any configuration. Possibly have 'pods' or 'cells' (i guess) but be able to move/hide them.

but also be able to have a tick list hide/unhide (traktor style but in one place).

Allow full passthrough of MIDI to VSTs, not just 2 dials/buttons

Currently, VSTs can only be mapped to the two dials/buttons in each VST slot. However, this isn't enough for VSTs like Glitch or Artillery, where you really need to be able to map more controls to be able to make full use of the VST. At the moment, all other MIDI input is blocked from reaching the VST, which prevents VSTs that have their own MIDI learn function from working. I would like there to be some way that all ...more »

Denon DN-MC6000 + TORQ 2.0 mapping

Hi,

Denon DN-MC6000 + TORQ 2.0 can be an explosive configuration !

It would be really nice if the AVID staff put online the mapping for this new controller on their website.

Thank you to the AVID staff to staying tuned new controllers to offer users the best update settings.

Main Channel Effects

Unless it's there and I missed it...I'd like to be able to apply effects to all four channels more easily. So if I'm mixing with 2-4 decks at one point and want to add one effect to them all, that I can. Kind of like if you have an effects processor hooked up to the main output.

Add editable text fields to waveforms

I was creating some cue points the other day as mix in/out reference and it got me thinking about how beneficial it would be to be able to add some text to each bar. Obviously a character limit would be necessary, but I think it would be great to be able to see text such as "cut bass" or "mix in" or "1/4 beat repeat", etc, as the waveform travels across the screen. I think it would be a great form of DJ heads up, like ...more »

Ignore Silence @ the end of a Track (Dead Air)

It would be good if Torq could recognize and ignore silence at the beginning and end of a track.

This would also help with the 30 second warning. Sometimes the 30 second warning doesn't help if there is dead space at the end of the song. If there is 15 seconds of silence at the end of a song, then you only have a 15 second warning.

Sampler output

I would like the ability to change sampler output (deck a, b, c, d) on the main screen instead of in the preferences. For internal control it may always go out through main, but with us external users it would be a better work flow to have it an on screen button to change output on the fly
